I recently decided to sharpen my photoshop skills with creating these pixel perfect viking era inspired icons.

Process took roughly 4 days, where the first day went with researching choosing what icons to include and making rough sketches. Next days were spent by pushing pixels and playing with blending options in Photoshop (I used CS6 on this project).

Funny enough, I started by coloring my sketches and first 10-12 icons came out quite cartoon’ish looking, which I liked, however the more icons I made, the more “realistic” they turned out to be. After comparing the two styles, I went and re-did the first icons to look like the rest.
